As a property photographer with many years of experience in a setup where all processes were centralised, Rune Kæseler Andersen missed working independently and having greater influence over his work. But how do you go from being a subcontractor in a large operation to handling bookings, communication, and delivery yourself?

“I had known for a long time that I should be doing something different, but I focused on the work. There were plenty of assignments, but my income was low, and I had no influence over the final result. It started to affect my enjoyment of the job,” says Rune Kæseler Andersen of Kæseler Image Solutions.

Rune has worked as a property photographer since 2005 and, for many years, supplied images to a larger company that handled booking, editing, and delivery centrally. For Rune, this meant a fast pace and many properties in a single day — at the expense of his professional pride.

“Being part of such a large ecosystem makes it difficult to become fully independent. The system works, and because of that it can seem easier and safer to stay within it. But in the long run, it isn’t satisfying to simply be a supplier. It wasn’t even really a collaboration. I only took the photographs, while others edited and delivered them,” explains Rune.

An enquiry from a potential new client was what finally prompted him to look for a different solution and a booking system that could support a freelance property photographer. He quickly recognised the advantages of Magna Multi.
